A Message from Hal Doner

Good day one and all.
 
In 2020 I joined VetBaseball, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit charity whose mission is to bring veterans to baseball games. We focus on veterans who would not otherwise be able to get to a Phillies game. It’s a wonderful “all volunteer” organization that provides transportation, t-shirts, snacks, a ballpark meal and a baseball game at no cost to the veterans. Created in 2018 by Alan Duretz in Florida, the program has served almost two-thousand veterans through its chapters in the Miami area and in Philadelphia.

The past 3 years I have had the pleasure of arranging trips to Phillies games for veterans from the Veteran Multi-Service Center and this year veterans from the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Association.

This is an all-volunteer program, 98+% of every dollar donated goes only to pay for the costs to take veterans to the games. We need your support to continue our mission here in Philadelphia. It costs between 60 and 75 dollars for each veteran, if you have been to a baseball game lately, you know how much food and transportation costs these days. Donors can select the Philadelphia Chapter so your funds will stay right here to help us bring more veterans to Phillies games this season and beyond.

I would love to arrange more trips, but unfortunately our funds are very limited.

Hence, I am humbly asking for your help. Your support is needed and will be greatly appreciated.

I also want to thank the Phillies, without their support, our costs would be well over a hundred dollars for each veteran.
