August 1st 2019 Park Summit

Our second trip with this wonderful group, first one this season. They look forward to it and we couldn’t be happier to accommodate them. Many of the folks are quick to become friends with our volunteers, and make a connection that elevates us all. Welcome back!

May 30th, 2019 -Marlins Park

May 30th Vetbaseball trip to Marlins Park with members of the Miami Broward VA. This trip was our first with the great veterans from the Miami and Broward VA. The VA has many programs, wonderful staff (Thank you guys!) and offer many needed services to our cherished veterans. Each one who wore a uniform wrote us a blank check, let’s pay them back!

Feb 22ND, 2019 - Ninenger Party

Vetbaseball – Marlins “Start the Season Party” February 22, 2019. Our first event of the 2019 season was a huge success. Long planned, we arranged a visit from Billy the Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids, food from Papa Johns Pizza, and Jersey Mike’s Subs. Joined by our volunteers (Thank You All!) and the residents and staff of Alexander “Sandy” Ninenger VA Nursing Home, it was an afternoon to remember.  Just look at those smiles!

Sept 2nd, 2018 - John Knox Village

Our final Veteran trip for our inaugural season was Sept 2, 2018, with a few dozen residents of John Knox Village, Pompano Beach. Each group differs a little, and this one showed us how much they appreciated our efforts unabashedly. Our veteran volunteers were treated like royalty. Here we are trying to show our gratitude, and they were doing the same to us. I love what we do! So will you.

June 28th, 2018 - Park Summit Palm Aire

Our third trip was June 28, 2018, with guests from the Veteran Clubs of Park Summit of Coral Springs, and Palm Aire, Pompano Beach. We escorted more than 30 WWII and Korean War veterans, some with spouses. These folks were just great, we all had a blast. We’re planning 2019 outings with them, they loved it.

July 18th, 2019 - Ninenger VA

This group was our first ever Vetbaseball Outing last year, we’ve become great friends. This year the participation was greater, the fun multiplied, and the game was over in 9 innings (last season it was 16!), Next one for these guys is Sept 12th, can’t wait!

July 12th, 2019 - Kings Point

The Veterans Club of Kings Point, 50 strong including 3 WWII veterans. These folks keep rooting for the Mets, what can we say, except Go FIsh!  It is an honor, they are always glad to come and we are always super happy to spend time with them. Getting to know about their lives in and after their service is interesting and enhances the great day.

April 3rd, 2019 - Kings Point Veterans Club

Our first Vetbaseball “Experience” of the 2019 season was April 3, 2019. The Veterans Club of Kings Point, Tamarac, more than 118 members strong, were whisked away from their club house to Marlins Park, in West Star 57 passenger luxury bus. Yes, there were too many Mets fans, but we let that slip, and they did win, but we’ll see those Mets again, and we’ll see the other 50+ members of the Kings Point Veterans Club later this season. Special acknowledgement to WWII Veteran Elliott Waxman, he may be the oldest veteran we have escorted to a game in our young two season history. Elliott, thank you for your service, your friendship, and letting us hear about your life.

July 24th, 2018 - Margate Nursing and Rehab

Our fourth trip was with some residents of Margate Health & Rehabilitation. Most required handicap access & assistance with meals. We escorted those who wanted on a whirl around the mezzanine of Marlins Park, which they enjoyed, especially all the fans who greeted them with high fives and accolades of Thank Your For Your Service! We love doing this!

May 17th, 2018 - 1st Ninenger VBB Trip

Our first Vetbaseball trip ever. On May 17, 2018 we gathered 24 veteran residents of the Alexander “Sandy” Ninenger VA Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines, FL for the trip to Marlins Park. Our board and volunteers had no idea what to expect, but we forged forward, and all went (almost) perfect. Many of the veterans were WWII and Korea, some said they haven’t been to ball game, and I quote, “Since Ebbets Field”! This is why we do this, look at those smiles!
