Harold (Hal) Doner was born in Philadelphia, graduated high school, attended college, and then enlisted in the Air Force. Hal was trained in various communication disciplines, then went on assignment in the United Kingdom. After advancing to the rank of Sargent, and obtaining a college degree, he was honorably discharged.

After spending some time working the space program at the Kennedy Space Center, Hal joined the Philadelphia School System as a teacher, earned a master degree, and enjoyed a career in several educational capacities, retiring later this year as a high school registrar. He is a Master Mason and involved with the Veterans Multi-Service Center of Philadelphia, and through them the Edison 64 Project.
Hal and his wife Judy started Vetbaseball’s Phila. Chapter, and along the way have given of their time, knowledge, support and hospitality. Judy and Hal enjoy a blended family of one son, two daughters, and a couple of the cutest grandkids they often spend time with. They enjoy many lifelong friendships going back to their youth and Air Force days.
