A Career In Baseball:

FREE Umpire Training Program

28-YEAR (1994-2022) VETERAN MLB UMPIRE AND PASTOR, TED BARRETT, IS A VETBASEBALL ADVOCATE—

“A Career in Baseball is, to use a familiar cliché, a home run. Recruiting vets to take the field is not only a great fit, but it’s also a Godsend for many of those heroes; baseball-loving veterans connecting with their communities. A tip of my cap to VetBaseball’s vision, matching free umpire training with immediate job placement! The truth is, we need a few thousand good men and women.”

new Umpire Training initiative for veterans

Now, another component of our offering seeks to empower veterans to become wage-earners with a career in baseball, an effective therapy to combat PTSD, and offer those willing a paycheck. Vets can earn from $20,000 to $30,000 annually by umpiring baseball and softball games, wherever they may live. Training is FREE!

Our Umpire Training initiative is led by Zach Rebackoff, a former professional umpire and trainer. He’s owned two professional umpire training schools, one in NYC and one in Santo Domingo, DR. He is the author of TOUGH CALLS and UNMASKED: The Honorable and Dishonorable Truths of a Professional Baseball Umpire.
